On 3rd December 2018, our volunteers from the ‘Trawling Through Time’ project visited the Arctic Corsair trawler in Hull’s Museum Quarter. These are some of the images that were taken on the day. With special thanks to volunteers Clive Dennison and Theresa Longbone for their kind contributions.

I am proud to say I went to sea on this vessel I was a snacker and crew member on the voyage to Iceland during collision

Thanks for sharing this David, and what a privilege it must be to say you’re a former crew member! Being involved in the collision must also have been a nerve-wracking experience. It’s possible that some of our former project volunteers may have recalled your father’s name, and I dare say that people involved in the Hull Maritime project or the Hull Bullnose Heritage Group might have a recollection.

Thankyou for replying,,have just recently discovered the trawlers past and don’t recall my mother or father speaking about this , so I’m thinking he must of been on another 1 of hulls trawlers , 1977-1980 as far as my memory can go . Deckhands would lift me up onto the ship as they were coming into dock . Was good memories for me . Thanks again , I’ll certainly look into some more archives Regards David Paterson
